Privacy Policy
Because your data deserves better than being ghosted.
I. Hey There — Let’s Talk Privacy
We know—privacy policies are about as fun as reading your own apology out loud. But stick with us. We want you to know how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with Real Apology and My Bad Card Company ("we," "us," or "our"). That includes our websites, emails, social media pages, and anything else that counts as one of our “Services.”
In plain English: we’re not in the business of selling your data. We use your info to send you cool things, process your orders, and make your experience better—not worse.
II. What We Collect (and Why)
Depending on how you engage with us, we may collect things like:
-
Your name, email, and maybe your address (especially if you want us to ship stuff).
-
Payment info (so we can charge you for that card you forgot to buy earlier).
-
Info about your orders and what you’ve purchased.
-
Your preferences—like whether you want to hear from us.
-
Data from cookies (not the chocolate chip kind—we wish), including IP address and browsing habits.
-
Any other info you give us on purpose—like uploading a profile pic or entering a giveaway.
Not every piece of this applies to everyone. If it sounds creepy, it probably isn’t—we’re just being transparent.
III. Where We Get Your Info
We get it from:
-
You (obviously) when you create an account, place an order, or sign up for emails.
-
Your devices, through cookies and pixels.
-
Social media when you engage with our posts.
-
Promotions, surveys, contests, or when you send a card to a friend.
We also collect data automatically while you browse (thanks, internet).
IV. Why We Use Your Info
We use your personal info to:
-
Fulfill orders, send confirmations, and keep you updated.
-
Make your experience more personal (and less generic).
-
Send you promotions or newsletters (only if you say it’s cool).
-
Track what’s working and what’s not, so we can improve.
-
Keep our business legit, secure, and compliant.
And yes, occasionally for legal or fraud-prevention reasons. Because laws.
V. Who We Share It With (and Who We Don’t)
We don’t sell your info. Ever.
But we do share it with:
-
Service providers (like the ones who handle payments, shipping, and customer support).
-
Social media and advertising partners (to show you things you might actually like).
-
Law enforcement (if they really, really need it and have a good reason).
-
Another business if we ever merge, sell, or reorganize. (You’ll still be covered by this policy.)
Our partners can only use your info to do what we hired them to do—no more.
VI. How We Keep It Safe
We take your privacy seriously and use reasonable security measures to protect your data. That said, no system is 100% hack-proof (ask literally any tech company ever). But we try our best.
VII. How Long We Keep It
We keep your info only as long as we need it—for business reasons, to follow the law, or because you still haven’t deleted that profile you made three years ago.
VIII. Your Choices & Rights
You’ve got options:
-
Unsubscribe from our emails at any time (we won’t take it personally).
-
Delete or update your profile info through your account.
-
Adjust cookie settings on your browser (check out our Cookie Policy for that).
-
If you're a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or Utah—you’ve got extra privacy rights. Scroll down for the fun legal part.
IX. Your California Rights (CCPA Stuff)
If you live in California, you can:
-
Know what info we collect.
-
Ask us to delete it.
-
Request corrections.
-
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal info (though, again, we don’t sell it).
-
Not be punished for exercising these rights.
To make a formal request, head over to our Do Not Sell or Share My Info page or contact us directly.
X. Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia & Utah – You're Covered Too
You’ve got rights, including access, deletion, correction, and opting out of data sales or targeting.
To exercise these rights, use our Consumer Data Request Form or email us. If we say no, we’ll explain why and how to appeal.
XI. Kids Under 13 – Sorry, Not for You
Our Services aren’t meant for children under 13. If we accidentally collect info from a kiddo, we’ll delete it fast.
XII. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (because lawyers, or better systems, or new laws). We’ll post the updated version here, and your continued use means you’re cool with the changes.
